Day 2 on the road: LA to Phoenix

We’re all in one car today. You can see the picture of the re-packing of the truck in LA, trying to get everything in one vehicle instead of two. It was a big job and we had to pull out all the boxes on the left side of the truck, but again we had help from friends and family.

The result? It fit, but… it was very tight, still too tight. We’ll see what happens in Phoenix. We may still have more work to do, especially seeing as we have more cargo to pick up in Texas.

The gas in LA and across the desert cost a pretty penny, but praise the Lord the truck is getting good gas mileage! We stopped for lunch in the desert and It was interesting because we forgot to bring plates and forks and knives and napkins, but we were fortunate enough to have friends who wrote us a note on the tissue box, which we used as napkins.

Since we packed the backseat of the cab with luggage, Nixon had to sit in the back by himself. But he would rather have been up front with us, and often had his little head between our shoulders.

There have been a few close calls on the road, but God has protected us. Thank you for your prayers, I know that God hears and answers. We look forward to our time in Phoenix with friends. And it will be a nice break from driving.
